I have been reading!
I just finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides and I can honestly say I know why this won a Pulitzer Prize. Eugenides creates a "mesmerizing saga of a near-mythic Greek American family." This story is so beautiful, odd and believable that I actually drove the book to a friend's house just after finishing it so she could experience this story.
"I was born twice: first, as a baby girl, on a remarkably smogless Detroit day in January of 1960; and then again, as a teenage boy, in an emergency room near Petoskey, Michigan, in August of 1974."
P.S. I'll have more updates later this week. I've been reading Philip Pullman, "A Year in the Merde" and other various fun novels!
